For the last couple of years, my former student and Shipping Department Manager, Emile Cote has been after me to offer a valve oil on the BERP website.
In spite of his persistence, my response was, “the world doesn’t need another valve oil.” However, upon further reflection, I realized that the world did not have a non-toxic, biodegradable lubricant made from renewable resources that worked great. So, in keeping with our mission statement, (The people who produce the BERP are committed to creating a sustainable economy to help heal the earth.), we came up with BerpBioOil.
We are proud to offer you something better for your valves and for mother earth. As with the BERP, the concept behind BerpBioOil is simple but very effective: a long lasting, slippery lubricant that will keep your valves clean and moving smoothly. We offer our usual 100% money back satisfaction guarantee if you are not happy with our product after purchasing.
After nearly three years of testing, here are some thoughts about using BerpBioOil:
- It works better initially if you clean your valves first before applying, but it is not absolutely necessary. BerpBioOil can mix with other oils without gunking up. However, it works best if you don’t mix with other oils or use on your horn simultaneously with other oils.
- It is recommended that you clean your instrument as you normally would every two weeks or so to prevent build-up. BerpBioOil does not evaporate the same way as petroleum-based oils.
- Don’t automatically re-apply BerpBioOil as you did with your old oil—it will last longer.
That’s about it! We would love to hear from you about your own experiences with our products. Please also feel free to send us any questions you have—we will gladly respond.
Thanks for your support,
Mario Guarneri and the folks at the BERP
